Dr. Jack Nelson has been a member of the Rime Buddhist Center & Institute of Tibetan Studies since 2009. He has lead services at the Rime Center and taught classes. He served as Membership Chair from December 2010 until November 2014. He has been fortunate to study under numerous Tibetan Masters. He has received teachings on the “Womb of Buddha: The Heart Sutra” from His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. He has also received Teaching and empowerments from the Venerable Phagyub Rinpoche, Lama Leena Teshe Katyup and Geshe Thupten Dorjee. He also has received teaching from Alan Wallace. His root teacher is the Venerable Younge Khachab Rinpoche VII. Jack has a special interest in Tibet art and Tibet Medicine. He has traveled in the Mustang District of Nepal and teaches an “Images of Enlightenment” class that explores Tibetan Thangkas as artwork and practice aids.
