Founders Day

Lama Chuck and Mary

Lama Chuck and Mary, July 25, 2015.

Founders Day has been established as a way to honor the legacy of our founders, Lama Chuck and Mary Stanford. When they founded the Rime Center in 1993 they envisioned the Rime Buddhist Center as a refuge for the nurturing of inner peace, kindness, community understanding and world peace. They wanted to provide qualified programs of Buddhist studies and Tibetan culture that would be taught by monks, lamas and other Tibetan Buddhist teachers, and to promote a harmonious relationship of understanding between both Tibetans and Westerners.

Founders Day has been set to occur on the Saturday closest to June 17th, Lama Chuck’s birthday. As a celebration of homecoming we use this time to welcome back former sangha members and celebrate the organization’s existence with an open house, puja, and family activities.
